Artist: Amara Touré
Release: Amara Touré
Label: Analog Africa
Genre: World

It took only ten songs for Amara Touré to become a legend. These ten treasures, representing Touré’s complete discography and have been carefully re-mastered from original session tapes and vinyl records.
It is the late 50’s, and Senegal is going crazy to the groove of Son Montuno and Pachanga. Brought to West Africa by Cuban sailors in the early 40’s, these styles were immediately adopted by a flourishing music scene that did not hesitate to embrace the Caribbean sound, mixed it with their own Folklore, and, in the process, created something new.

Artist:  Stray cats
Release: Live at Rockpalast
Label: M.I.G Music
Genre: Rock ‘N’ Roll

Every era has its heroes and every scene has its legends. The 80’s had the Stray Cats and today they are the indisputable icons of neo-rockabilly. The influence Stray Cats had on music and fashion is in hindsight undeniable. Where would psychobilly legends such as Meteors or Demented are Go!, who were founded as a counter movement to rockabilly, be today? Would the sound of the 50’s still be so popular today if the Stray Cats had not brought it back to life in the 80’s?

lee in lycra

Lee Morrison, General Manager UK and SVP Rights Management Believe Group UK, is cycling various races to raise money for a charity that is very close to Believe Digital’s heart, The Last Night a DJ Saved My Life Foundation.

Last Night A DJ Saved My Life is a charitable foundation creating opportunities for the dance music industry to make a positive impact to the lives of young people and their communities – Changing lives, Saving lives.

Please take a look at Lee’s Virgin Money page and be as generous as you can for this amazing cause. Click here to Donate.

Lee adds an update of how he is doing so far.

“So I have finally done what I never thought I would do and donned lycra…. It’s all for a good cause though.

This year I set myself some targets of raising money for the Last Night A DJ foundation and part of that is doing several long distance cycle rides.

LNADJ are a foundation that work with other charities mainly around children in need.

We will be paying 100% of any money earned directly through to Warchild. That’s 100% of all donations being paid to Warchild….

So I started on the 14th of June by cycling the Etape du Sussex (64 Miles SRS events) this was a real bugger and the hills killed me… Then the week after on the 21st of June (fathers day in the UK) I am doing the London to Brighton.
Lee's ride to brighton             gideon ride to brighton
With another couple of long distance rides in July the goal is the Ride London on the 2nd of August, this is the Olympic route around London and a 100 Miles long

Prudential ride London

For all of this I have bought all of the equipment and been putting in the hours training, its a big commitment but something I am glad to be doing.

I would really appreciate some sponsorship for this and rather than asking for lots of different one’s I really want people to sponsor me for the final big one…

If you follow the link below you can go to my page and I promise never to wear the lycra in public again (unless the money is right) but I can provide pictures on request. 🙂

$100K REVENUE GENERATED FOR MUSICGATEWAY SONGWRITERS & PRODUCERS

June, 4th 2015 14:19

music gateway

Notting Hill Music’s Writers Reap the Benefits of $100k Song Placements through Music Gateway

Music Gateway, the world’s #1 marketplace for music and creative professionals is continuing a prolific success streak by completing over $100,000 worth of song placements in the Asian market in conjunction with their partner KDigital who are based in Seoul, Korea.

With $100k of production buy out fees paid for the masters of future hit tracks, it was no surprise that the high profile projects garnered attention from top publishers such as Notting Hill Music Publishing. In the case of these international deals, the writers retained the bulk of the publishing after allowance for lyric translation or re-writes, if there was no other option in the native language. Notting Hill Music’s writers have placed several songs as part of the recent windfall, which has only added to their greatly established reputation within the Asian marketplace. However, the bulk of the songs have come from independent writers registered on the site from across the world including LA, New York, Finland, Sweden, Germany and the UK.

“The Asian music market has been a significant growth area for us. Since working closely in partnership with KDigital, we have seen the benefit and impact of such a vibrant area of the industry outside of the US and UK. It’s testament to the quality of the songwriters & publishers that we have using our platform, as well as our remote working tools, that our clients keep coming back for more. We’re very proud to say that the $100k in fees we have generated for our users was achieved in the last 3 months and is set to increase exponentially in the 2nd half of 2015.” Jon Skinner CEO & Founder Music Gateway

Music Gateway has had a strong presence at a number of conferences across the globe recently, including MUSEXPO in LA and Music Matters in Singapore, with the purpose of securing more high-level opportunities for Music Gateway users.

The company quickly reached the status of the top b2b music industry online platform shortly after its launch and is continuing to strengthen and expand that reputation within the industry in 2015.
