Believe Digital Opens Norwegian Office In Partnership With Indie Distribution

January, 29th 2016 12:28

Believe Logo Noir Square SmallBelieve Digital has officially opened a Norwegian office in cooperation with one of Norway’s most influential music companies, Indie Distribution. Following a two-year launch development phase led by instrumental Norwegian artist manager and Believe’s representative in Norway Eivind Brydøy, the partnership has now been formally launched. The move now sees Believe operating over 30 offices across the globe with over 300 international digital music industry experts making up its staff base.

Since its inception in 2005, Indie Distribution has been one of the key independent companies in Norway, having distributed labels like PIAS, Nuclear Blast, Century Media, Rough Trade, SPV, Roadrunner and many more. In addition to Indie Distribution the team behind the company also run three of the more notable record companies in Norway: Indie Recordings, Voices of Wonder and Name Music. The partnership sees Believe Digital taking over the Norwegian representation for their catalogue, significantly strengthening Believe’s Norwegian market share.

Erlend Gjerde, Managing Director at Indie Distribution and Country Manager of Believe Digital Norway, explains: “We’re excited to announce our new role for Believe Digital. Believe is probably the only player in the digital music industry that manages to offer the flexibility and dynamics of an independent, whilst coupled with the power which is usually only enjoyed by the majors. This truly marks the start of a new era for us, entering into the digital music distribution market by joining one of the very best multinational teams out there.”

Gjerde continues: “Our setup is significantly strengthened with this partnership, and not just for our domestically distributed clients; we really look forward to working with Believe globally to help us develop our labels internationally. We cannot wait to get started.”

Lee Morrison, General Manager UK & SVP Rights Management Believe Group says of the move: “The expansion in Norway is another step towards increasing our full international reach for our global distribution and label services divisions. We are looking forward to working with Indie Distribution and their superb catalogue, both on a local and global basis”.

highasakiteArtist: HIGHASAKITE
Release: Someone Who’ll Get It
Label: Propeller Recordings
Genre: Indie Pop
In many ways, it’s a coming of age, though not by way of conceited or complacent clarity. There’s no enlightenment. Quite the opposite, really. Here is a cry for affinity. Understanding. Someone Who’ll Get It. Norway’s Highasakite return with perhaps their darkest offering to date, unveiling new single ‘Someone Who’ll Get It’ – the first lifted from the band’s highly-anticipated sophomore LP, slated for release this year. It ricochets; it resonates, with Highasakite’s signature battalion in full force.

Argentinian singer-songwriter La Yegros returns with the 1st single from her forthcoming second album ‘Magnetismo’, her debut release on Soundway Records.

Despite their usual nostalgia and romanticism – this is their most ambitious and modern album to date.
The Story unfolds…..

Develop Your Audience With Original Packshot Videos

January, 28th 2016 19:39

When a video is embedded on external websites, they do not show as much information as the YouTube watch page. This includes the subscribe button, channel avatar, and descriptions containing links to subscribe to your channel and buy your content.

Therefore, it is a good idea to make these accessible to viewers through the video stream itself.

Cards and annotations are a great way to redirect to stores, websites and other YouTube pages (videos, playlists, channels).

If you think about your video packshot design before publishing, you can include several icons that can be made clickable via spotlight annotations.

Top Tip – Increase your Watch Time by integrating links to more of your content using playlists i.e. ‘Full Album’. This keeps viewers watching your content and has a positive effect on the YouTube algorithm.

Now the legend returns with his new band ABBATH and a crushing eponymous debut album, unleashing all the fury of a Nordic blizzard at full force. Artist: Frøkedal
Release: The Sign
Label: Propeller Records

Playback Locations

January, 12th 2016 17:39

This analytics feature helps you understand which pages are driving audiences to your content.

Usually, the most important playback location is the YouTube Watch Page.

Just below you will find the websites that embedded your videos, and here’s a key learning:

Social Networks are strong platforms for reaching audiences thanks to people sharing your videos, you will find them regularly on top of the analytics, but they don’t bring that much Watch Time as the content consumption is very fast on these platforms.

Besides, there are a lot of media such as news websites, magazines and blogs, that feature your videos following their own sourcing or your PR work; these on the other hand, bring an increased Watch Time.

The Playback Locations tool in the YouTube analytics can easily help you identify the ones that really count, they could be the key to help your content being discovered and your channel being successful.

Genre: Electro

note from moonbounce: “I wrote this song to celebrate my lady’s body and worship carnal desire. It’s my raunchiest song to date, but also the purest. I didn’t attempt to tackle any complex emotional themes, I just wanted to praise my woman!”

note from ryan: “shouts to my dood noah breakfast for putting me onto moon bounce. MB is such a strong example of what i’ve been seeing as the next evolution of the producer — morphing into the singer-songwriter. it’s really all coming full circle.”

Artist: Lucas
Release: Keep U Warm
Label: Secret Songs
Genre: Electro

“Often when I am making music I have some idea of the place in which I want the song to exist. This ‘place’ can be a room, a field, an old cassette tape, etc. I think that attempting to capture the mood of a specific setting can give my songs a certain quality or atmosphere, and can help me choose sounds that will work well for the track. I will keep the inspiration for this song to myself, but I hope it takes u somewhere that means something to u :)”
