Believe New Releases 15/4/2016

April, 15th 2016 09:03

Artist: Face+Heel

Release: Our Prince’s Quary
Label: Dekalog OmniWare
Genre: Alternative

Our Prince’s Quarry the debut album from Face+Heel tells the story of growing up in mid west wales in the 1990’s and how it feels leaving the city and returning there as an adult.

Memories good, and bad of the faded postcard towns and the people who inhabit them all year round, and the sense of returning isolation felt as younger person desperate to escape life in the margins. Remembering first loves and awakenings and looking for reconstruction after inner city burnout.

Artist: The Young Folk
Release: First Sign Of Morning
Label: Pixie Pace Records
Genre: Alternative

The eagerly awaited second album of Dublin’s favourites The Young Folk. First Sign of Morning follows the hugely successful debut album, The Little Battle, which hit the Irish Indie Album Charts Top 20 upon its release in September 2014. First Sign of Morning sees The Young Folk explore new, sometimes darker sounds while not abandoning the acoustic repertoire upon which they built their success.

Artist: Various Artists
Release: Shogun Audio Pt. 2
Label: Shogun Audio
Genre: Drum & Bass

Part 2 of Shogun – 100 ups the ante with Germany’s Phace who delivers his trademark tech of the highest order whilst Shogun’s own Joe Ford brings an 80’s air on his dance floor gem, ‘Time Is Limited’. Men of the moment Ivy Lab turn SpectraSoul’s already glowing ‘Glimpse’ into liquid gold and Proxima goes industrial to finish us off on the outrageous techno-hinged ‘Sens8’.

Artist: Various Artists
Release: Synthwave vol.3
Label: Kiez Beats
Genre:  Dance

This is the 80s dance music revival! Following the success of Kiez Beats latest compilations, featuring artists like Le Matos, Tesla Boy, Mitch Murder, Miami Nights 1984, Electric Youth, Futurecop!, Lifelike, Anoraak, Com Truise and many more and the success of movies like Kung Fury, Drive feat. Ryan Gosling and Turbo Kid, Kiez Beats set up the next amazing compilation with so called synthwave, outrun electro, dreamwave, retro synth and related genres tracks. All 80s inspired synthesizer based modern electronic music that is created as a homage to the classic 80s sounds and emotions. The well established label already released a lot of huge compilations with some of the leading artists in this style, generated millions of views on Soundcloud, Youtube etc., licensed tracks to commercial tv & movie productions in the past and future and helped this genre a lot to get heard. Enjoy the music, that’s keeping the soundtrack spirit of many 80s films, video games, cartoons and television shows alive!
